Savoury / Herb Popovers

Ingredients: (makes 3-4)

  • 1/2 cup All purpose flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 tsp fresh Oregano (used dry)
  • 1/4 tsp fresh Thyme
  • 1/4 tsp fresh Rosemary
  • 1/4 tsp Red chili crushed flakes
  • 1/4 tsp Balck pepper
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1/8 cup Butter (melted and cool)
  • 1 Garlic (finely chopped) (optional)
  • Salt as per taste

Or can use fresh  small spring or Dill, Chives, Tarragon and parsley.

Method:

In a bowl mix flour, salt. Beat the egg, milk, and melted butter togehter until blended.  Now add flour mixture to egg mixture and combine thoroughly. All the herbs, red chili flakes, black pepper, garlic and mix it well.

Grease the moulds or baking cups with butter. Pour this barter half full. Bake at 375 F about 20-25 minutes.

Let them cool for 5 minutes then unmould them and serve Hot with Olive oil.

Note: When its baking do not open the door of oven or the popovers may collapes. For more drier popover pierce each one with knife after baking completely or after 25 minutes. Then again bake for 5 minutes for more.
