Banana and Ginger Tea Bread

Ingredients: (makes 1 Loaf)

  • 1 and 1/2 cup All purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 cup Ginger stems (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar (used dark)
  • 4 Tbsp Milk
  • 2 Bananas (riped and Mashed)

Method:

Sift the flour and baking powder in the bowl. Add butter and rub until mixture become like bread crumbs.

In bowl beat the banana with the fork , add sugar, ginger , milk and beat well.

Add this wet mixture to the flour and mix it well. This dough will be sticky.

Grease the baking loaf tin with butter. Spoon in the prepare tin and bake for 40-45 minutes or till the toothpick/ skewer comes out clean.

Run the knife around the edges to loosen, then turn the tea bread on the plate or rack and let it cool completely.
Serve with Tea.
